There are numerous websites devoted to breast cancer throughout the Internet, but the ones listed below are reliable and recognized as the best online resources for patients diagnosed with breast cancer and their loved ones. Please use the Internet with discretion when you are looking up information about breast cancer. There are many sites which give false, misleading and frightening information. The ones I have listed were personally recommended to me by my own physicians.

One of the most widely recognized and respected organizations in the world for their promotion of funding for research in finding improved treatments and a cure for breast cancer. This site includes an excellent interactive section titled "Anatomy of Breast Cancer" which explains in a movie format and simple layman's terms all phases of breast cancer from diagnosis to surgery and follow-up treatments. The site also offers 24 hour support and advice as well as one of the best online shopping sources for pink ribbon clothing, jewelry and gifts. The Susan G. Komen Foundation has many corporate sponsors throughout the year which donate proceeds from sales of their products to the foundation and there are numerous "Race For The Cure" events staged throughout the United States all year long.

These important caregivers not only administer life-saving chemotherapy and supportive care drugs, but also educate patients and help them cope with the physical and emotional toll that a cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy can take. Cancer patients depend on oncology nurses, and they deliver!

Right now, we are facing a dire shortage of qualified oncology nurses. If we don't take immediate steps to educate and train nurses to meet the increasing need, in a few years we could face nothing short of a crisis. Urge Congress to support nursing programs!
