Blackened Burgers
This is a
great recipe for grilled burgers any time of
year, but we especially like it during the
summer months when fresh ripe tomatoes and
Vidalia or red onions for slicing are
available at our local farmer's market. This
recipe will easily serve four people since
the burgers are thick and a quarter pound
each!. The recipe's photo below shows
Romaine lettuce which our family prefers,
but you may substitute your own preference
in lettuce. We like Romaine lettuce for it's
presentation and also it's nutritional
value. The picture also shows a red onion
garnish which has a much stronger flavor
than Vidalia onions, so use whichever you
prefer. The red onion simply looked nicer
for the photography.
:-)
1
pound ground beef 5 tablespoons A.1.®
Steak Sauce, divided 4 teaspoons
coarsely ground black pepper, divided 4
Kaiser rolls, split Garnish: leaf
lettuce, tomatoes, onions
In medium
bowl, combine ground beef, 3 tablespoons
steak sauce and 1 teaspoon pepper; shape
mixture into 4 patties or burgers. Brush
burgers with remaining steak sauce; coat
burgers with remaining pepper.
Grill burgers over medium
heat for 5 minutes on each side or until
done. Serve on Kaiser rolls with your choice
of leaf lettuce, sliced tomatoes and Vidalia
or red onions; mayonnaise and prepared
mustard condiments if desired.
