As the limo pulls up to the Kodak Theatre Gypsy is greeted by cheering fans and an explosion of flashbulbs from the swarm of reporters covering Hollywood's biggest night of the year. Always poised, the lady of the hour steps out to make her way down the famous red carpet . . .

Gypsy is immediately pulled to the side of the red carpet by Joan Bloodhound Sniffers. "Gypsy, you're nominated for a second year for your role in the ground-breaking musical Too Much Rouge where you play the flaming French courtesan Vaseline. The real dirt is, you are secretly panting for your dear friend Sissy Sussex Spaniel to win for her role In The Dog Bed, aren't you?" Gypsy emphatically agrees. "Yes Joan, I was blown away by Sissy's gutsy performance about a canine mother dealing gallantly with her puppy's affair with an older dog. She should win this year for her snarling scenes from a dog bed portraying a mother dog's determination to seek the ultimate justice for her pup's murder!"

The reporter, who has a jewelry line of her own which she howls about on cable TV, asks Gypsy about the stunning necklace she is wearing. "Oh, this is an exclusive Coco Palenque design as seen on her website Bijoux Four Paws.com...she makes the most beautiful pieces for discriminating dogs!", Gypsy sweetly replies. "This particular collar was a gift from her handsome Chihuahua Caramelo."

After graciously maneuvering the gauntlet of reporters Gypsy moves down the red carpet to meet up old pals in the industry. She quickly connects with this year's nominee for Best Actor Jack Russell Crowe who is behaving himself tonight and not barking at reporters as he sometimes does. Jack Russell is also up for his second Oscar for a stellar performance in I've Lost My Mind, the true story of a canine that chases cars while calculating dog biscuits with his left paw..."Did you have to dig deep inside yourself to play this role?", Gypsy asks him. "Nah", replies Jack Russell, "I've been known to behave in the same crazed manner in the presence cute, unattached females. How about you, Doll-Face? You with another dog tonight?" With that remark Gypsy discreetly moves away from him. Since last year's after-Oscar partying with Jack Russell she thinks of him as mere eye candy!

Moving along quickly Gypsy now finds herself among the throng of superstars and wannabe's rushing to enter the new, magnificent Kodak Theatre where the ceremony is about to begin! Assigned to her seat reserved for Hollywood's elite, Gypsy greets Marissa Sharpei and her fun-loving pal Renee Tail-Wagger who are both nominees, also. "You were great in Bridget Bone's Diary", squeals Gypsy while Marissa dances in circles around them.

The three-some settles down in hushed silence as the lights are dimmed and the curtain goes up on The 74th Annual Academy Awards Show. Nostrils flair, ears perk forward and tails become very still as the drama unfolds before them . . .

The ceremony is filled with surprises, but no one is more overcome with emotion than first-time winners Halle Beagle-Berry for Best Actress and lovable Ron Bowser for Best Director! (also known as Opie) We all watched the little red-haired puppy grow up on TV before our very eyes to become a canine star and later a director. As Gypsy shares the first dance of the evening with ever-humble Ron she is heard saying, "You'll always be little Opie in my heart."

This magical evening draws to a close so Gypsy bids everyone a fond farewell. As she rides in her luxurious limo back to her palatial home she contemplates her good fortune and reminds us all that there are millions of "stars" just waiting to be discovered in animal shelters around the world. With eternal hope and boundless love they yearn for their own chance to take center stage . . .
